This thread is for contrasting the Democratic Convention and the Republican Convention.
although the RNC hasn't yet finished as i post this, i've already seen stark contrasts between them.
The first contrast i would like to bring up is Diversity. The DNC shocked me with the amount of minority and female speakers, especially during the first two nights. The first night, i only saw 2 male speakers, and one of them proudly announced his homosexuality. The RNC has been white, and by the majority male. i don't find this to be a snapshot of America.
i also found the first few night the DNC was not about slamming McCain, but about outlining their platform and what they stand for. Quite different from the Smearing and fallacious arguments against Obama from the RNC.
There are more contrasts that could be brought up. What have you noticed that contrasts the two parties?

i can sum up the RNC in 2 words:
red meat.
exactly what the media loves, yet some of their speakers glowered at the media during their speeches.
not one mention of how they are going to fix anything. oh wait, according to McCain: GW has been doing a great job under these horrible times. then later on he is the only one to fix all the things wrong with america and washington, and then he doesn't think he is any sort of messiah placed at the most pivotal place in history.
fight fight fight rah rah rah.
no platform, all attack, slander, and who cares about the truth or issues. This is all about McCain. how many times did he say i during that snorefest that was his speech?
sorry, objectivity went out the window when they didn't give me any semblance of a plan other than, "trust me to know what is wrong and fix it... just join the military. that is the american dream, and you aren't a patriot unless you fight for the country." slight paraphrasing, but i'm a little bit disgusted by the insults to my intelligence at this point.
