This is McCartheyism in 2008, substituting liberalism for communism. Stating that liberals or the far left are un-American is outrageous and is deliberate fear mongering. To say that the media needs to investigate the patriotism of left leaning democrats serving in congress is a modern day witch hunt, and has absolutely no basis in fact.
It is these types of comments that drive divisions of the electorate, and prevents the congress from working together to find compromise on the issues that matter to this country. She is stating that anyone who doesn't share her view is traitorous, and that is about as facist aa anything i've ever heard. This country was founded on the thought that everyone has a right to speak their opinions, and it is up to the individual to determine if they agree with that point of view. The my way or you are un-American is undermining our democracy, and turning it into an elected tyranny of ignorance.
